Assura develops and retains for long-term investment: primary care resource centres; GP surgeries; polyclinics; and community hospitals.
Modern, effective premises
The current emphasis in today’s primary care market on the expansion of primary healthcare capacity, requires the continual upgrade of premises infrastructure and capital investment.
Premises must now be able to accommodate the shift of certain services previously based in hospitals, for example diagnostic and out-patient consultations.
This means flexible premises engineered to support change, evolution and a wide range of healthcare providers with fully effective facilities management.
Local need
Assura purchases existing premises from GP practices and works with GPs and other health professionals to develop new, modern premises according to local need.
We are fully supportive of the Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) programme and we are involved in several operational LIFT projects.
To accelerate and facilitate the process of developing new premises, Assura is prepared to take careful, measured development risks and build new premises where potential occupiers have yet to commit, if we believe in the potential of a particular site or development.
On all of our larger developments, we intend to develop integrated pharmacy facilities and build additional space to accommodate our GPCo services.
