Assura is pleased to announce that one of its newest and most innovative primary care buildings, the Eagle Bridge Health and Wellbeing Centre, has won the 'Best Building Design of the Year' award in Crewe's annual local Mayor's Oscars ceremony.
The Mayor's Oscars is an annual event in which the Mayor of Crewe, Councillor Maurice Jones, who officially opened the Eagle Bridge only last month, recognises nominees for their contribution to the life of the borough of Crewe and Nantwich.
Commenting on the award, Andrew Darke, regional director of Assura Property said:
"This is one of Assura’s flagship schemes and we are extremely pleased to have received this prestigious award. We worked closely from the outset with the doctors to design a building which provides the best environment for patients and staff.
"Eagle Bridge is a superb example of how a complex development can be delivered not only efficiently and affordably for the NHS, but also with an eye on design for which everyone can feel truly proud."
Simon Whitehouse, associate director of primary care for Central and Eastern Cheshire PCT said:
"We are delighted to have won the category of Best Building Design of the Year, and are pleased to be a part of this prestigious event organised for the borough of Crewe and Nantwich.
"A tremendous amount of time, thought and effort goes into producing the calibre of new builds that you see in Eagle Bridge Health and Wellbeing Centre by GP’s and their staff, property developers, architects and PCT staff.
"In addition, local people and patients of all the GP Practices concerned have contributed their time and effort in the planning stage of both these buildings and this is reflected in the new an innovative ways of improving a patients experience."
